Binky was actually the nickname of Nina's father, Brian, given to him by his work mates at BP / Mobil Oil. Nobody outside of his work was aware of the name until he retired. We had arranged to pick him up after the party given at BP where we saw lots of posters wishing "good luck Binky" so the secret was out after over 30 years ! After retiring, Binky moved to Gozo and a couple of years later we started to plan to follow to open our craft business. In planning the business we had to think of a name and were looking for something that would be easy to remember and we quickly decided on Binky Crafts with Binky’s permission of course.Sadly, just before we moved out to Gozo we found out that Brian had cancer and regrettably, we lost him in may 2005.

This made the choice of name even more important to us and by coincidence we have found his real name in our logo, so he really is with us every day.
